Why Beyond the Bridge?
With the creation of bridges, possibilities are born. Communications, trade, transportation, access, sharing, collaboration, the co creation of shared value, and friendships thrive. Bridges unite cultures and worlds, and create an infinite number of opportunities in destination communities, both for visitors and their hosts.
The Beyond Chacay Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization in Vermont, was created to provide our clients, Ecuadorian communities, and American, Canadian and European tourists, as well as foundations and corporations, with an opportunity to invest in a new paradigm seeking to promote community based economic development, conservation and reciprocity through entrepreneurship. In 2019 the potential for impact expands with the fusion of the local social venture Ser pa´Hacer, creating a broader, more holistic platform of social transformation.
With this bond in place, a new initiative is emerging based on the transformation of youth in Ecuador. The participation of young high school leaders ignites new opportunities and challenges through the exploration of their talents as active members of the community. Leadership training for these actors becomes catalyst for realizing the mission of our foundation.
The Beyond Chacay Foundation is tackling social challenges at their root, and accomplishes this by addressing changes in human behavior and the creation of value through a social economy growth model.
Mission
BCF invests in transformation, mobilizing resources to promote Innovation, Collaboration, and Shared Value in Emerging Market Communities. We create Dynamic Ecosystems which enable local hosts and visitors to promote shared value by investing in human, natural, physical, cultural, sustainable and economic capitals.

By promoting collaboration and preparing fertile ground, we groom future leaders as critical thinkers and responsible decision making actors. Our dream is thriving communities based on evidence based policy and decision making. We enable both tourists and locals as change agents committed to promoting quality of life for locals and quality experiences for visitors through the co creation of shared value.
Financial
Model
We embrace and promote sustainability, to redefine dependency through entrepreneurship. To that end, we have created an EcoFund that tracks investors´ time, talents, and treasure ($s) to finance local businesses and community projects.
Agents of Transformation (university undergrad and grad students), and Stewardship Excursions for university alumni cohorts interested in leaving a legacy in the communities they visit. We also offer consulting to communities interested in landing and launching the EcoHelix model: the environmentally sustainable collaboration of the Public, Private, Civic Sectors, Academia (including schools as well as institutes and universities) and the Media (traditional and virtual).
